My name is Deb, but my students and their families call me Mrs. T. I've been teaching for more than 8 years here in the great Lone Star State! Before opening this early childhood program, I spent my teaching career in public schools, teaching Pre-K to 2nd grade. Prior to teaching, I was in the wonderful world of corporate America, working in visual merchandising for a large retail company. After 12 years of working in the business world, I left it and returned to college for a teaching degree.
I opened Busy Bee in the Fall of 2016 with the purpose of preparing young children to successfully transition to Kindergarten. We guide each child in their development and encourage our kids to become independent thinkers and doers. We teach with hands on activities and allow young children to take ownership of their learning, I am merely the faciliator. Young children learn best through play and when they are offered opportunities to explore, they their development just takes off naturally.
My teaching experience is in the early childhood education field, specifically in child development. I am also currently working on a Masters degree in child development with Walden University.
If you frequent the Dallas Zoo or sign up for any of their educational workshops, you may see there too. This summer I became a part of the Instructor team at the zoo. I will be teaching family education workshops throughout the year.
Thank you for stopping by my page to learn more about me and the experience I bring to this program designed specifically for young children.
